Help me Coach!

Ever find yourself saying help me? If so, you may be able to relate to this post.

I recently received a request for help in the form of an email message.  I wanted to share the following comment in the message because it demonstrates some common themes among those who are struggling to achieve their goals.

“It has been a really bad year for me with the recession.  My greatest problem is faith in myself and at the moment everything I touch I ruin.”

This kind of statement shows a “lack” mentality. For whatever reason, when this individual views the world around him he only sees what he does not have.  For him it’s been “a really bad year”.  He also has the mindset of a victim.  Victims always have a reason why something is bad; in this case his year wasn’t good because of the recession.  In addition he claims to know what his problem is, but if that was true would he be saying help me? Don’t you think he would have already fixed his problem if he knew what it was?

My response to him and to those who feel they are in the same situation, is this:  Stop being a leaf in the wind. The Oak grows straight and tall in any weather.  I can help you, but first you must choose to be the Oak.

Here’s to your success!
