Wii Fit challenge…

Profit is not only measured in dollars and cents.  Being in good health is even more important when considering how much that affects your quality of life.

My daughter got a wii fit for her birthday a few months back.  I thought that was something perfect for a girl, but not for a triathlete like me… honestly, if it doesn’t result in a near death experience it isn’t really exercise is it? 8-)   Well, after 3 years of pushing myself to my physical limits, I’ve taken a few months off, and I’m beginning to see the appeal of a somewhat more moderate training regime.

So yesterday my daughter showed me how to add my slightly bald, glasses-wearing mii character to the wii fit game and off I went.  I did a little yoga, some strength training, balancing games and aerobics.  It wasn’t too difficult and I have to admit it was a little fun.  The best part was spending time with my daughter.

When I got done I decided I would use the wii fit every day as part of a new exercise routine.  The timing is good since it’s getting too cold to swim, bike, or run; – and did I mention it wasn’t too difficult?   :-)

The holiday season is upon us and that means increased stress in our jobs and personal lives, as well as dramatic increases in time spent just hanging around eating until our buttons pop!  Adding some exercise to your routine can help you combat stress and burn off those extra holiday calories.

If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to set out on a fitness challenge of your own; whether that’s going to your local gym, using a program like the wii fit, taking the clothes off that expensive piece of exercise equipment sitting idle in your bedroom, or just lacing up your hiking boots and hitting the trail.  Do anything that involves a little muscle and movement, and keep at it for the next 90 days.

If you do you may not have a million bucks, but you’re sure to feel like a million bucks!

Here’s to your health!
